THINGS I WILL MISS ABOUT BRUSSELS (I) - Une Blanche

I must say that before coming to Brussels I was not a beer guy. But the truth is that you can't miss it when you live here. As we say about bacalhau and the French about their cheese, there is a different beer for each day of the year. I'm not sure if this is true and, in any case, I haven't tried them all in almost 4 years. Still, my favourite is 'blanche', a cold, fresh, light and socializing 'blanche'. It goes with a meal, after a meal, as an apero or just as a good excuse to go out and mingle with friends. Hemingway once said that a man is never alone by the sea. True. But it is also true that a man is never alone "by" a 'blanche'. Encore une blanche, s'il vous plait.
